Those wishing to travel on Maypul Layn in South Marysburgh will have to wait a day longer for unexpected road work to be completed.

The seldom-travelled road was closed Wednesday as a contractor making preparations for the White Pines Wind Project, which is slated to have a buried power transmission line routed along the road, ran into difficulties.

A press release from Prince Edward County indicated a rock drill became bound up in the ground under the road and the contractor had to dig it out.  The work was to be completed by the end of the day Thursday, but the contractor informed the County the road work would require more time.  The latest estimate given was reopening was at the end of the day Friday.
