Stars align for Santa in Bloomfield in 2017

NOT SO FROZEN- Even the littlest parade goers didn't need to worry about frost bite at the 2017 Bloomfield Nighttime Santa Claus Parade presented by Bloomfield/Hallowell Recreation. For the first time in recent years, the event was held during pleasant conditions. (Jason Parks/Gazette Staff)

There have been many a dreary night for Prince Edward County’s original and only night time Santa Claus parade.

The 2017 edition was not one of them.

Pleasant weather well above freezing and clear skies made for an enjoyable night in Bloomfield on Friday for a lengthy holiday procession that included the Queen’s University Marching Band, dozens of floats and of course, the big man in red.

Without biting winds and rain which have plagued the event for the past couple of years, attendance was up and everyone had a reason to smile.
