OPP drug bust results in seizure worth $22,000

A successful execution of a search warrant on an apartment on the outskirts of Picton has taken $22,000 worth of cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia off the streets, the Prince Edward OPP reports.

The police action took place this morning as members of the local detachment were supported by the OPP’s tactical response, canine, and community street crime unit.

A 35-year-old Picton woman has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime valued at under $5,000.  The woman was released on a promise to appear. She is to appear in Picton court March 14.
