Peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday March 15th, 2018. Shirley Slaven of East Lake, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Harry. Dear mother of Michael (Joanne) of South Bay, Florence Slaven (John)  of R.R. #3, Picton, Martha Handley (Bill) of R.R. #1, Picton, Jane Slaven of Picton, Chris (Debbie) of Mississauga, the late Harry Paul Slaven and her special son-in-law Chris Walker. Dear sister of Marguerite Greer of Stirling and the late Frank Dyer. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Jamie, Scott, Jeff, Patricia, Pat, Corey, Lesley, Caitlin, Jordan and Trevor. Shirley will be fondly remembered by her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mrs. Slaven rested at the Whattam Funeral Home, 33 Main Street, Picton. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church on Monday March 19th, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Father Robert Chisholm officiated. Cremation to follow with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
