Is Donald Trump or some other climate-change denier now in charge at the school board? How else to explain the massacre—and that is not an overstatement—of every tree in front of PECI?

I understand that accommodation must be made for an increase in the number of school buses in the next academic year but surely a more imaginative approach to the design of this could have saved at least some of those lovely maples. Trees are our planet’s lungs so this desecration sends a very odd environmental message to the pupils at PECI.

The school board is, indeed, paving paradise and should be ashamed.
