KINCH, Winston Joseph Hutson

It is with great sadness that the family of Winston Kinch announces his passing after a long illness, on June 13th 2020 at the age of 79. Winston will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years Janine, their children Carine, Andrew, and his four grand children Alex, Natalie, Flynn and Ayla. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Roger, sister Monica as well as all his nieces and nephews. After a long and successful career in IT, Winston retired in Prince Edward County in search of a simpler life, close to the natural world. His high regard for elders led him to facilitate discussion and poetry groups in long term care facilities. He then volunteered with Hospice PEC as a companion to those approaching the end of life. Winston will be remembered as a lover of words and nature, philosopher, joke teller, analyzer of complex situations, driver of fast cars and deep admirer of all things Winnie the Pooh. Due to the concerns of COVID-19, a celebration of Winston’s life will be held at a later date at St Andrew’s Circle of Friends in Picton. Special thanks to the team at PEC Memorial Hospital for the nearly 10 years of exceptional care, and so much gratitude for the fabulous palliative care team. It was Winston’s wish that in lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make a donation in his memory to Hospice Prince Edward. Arrangements entrusted to Whattam Funeral Home, 33 Main Street, Picton, ON
