Jean. A. Brandon passed away peacefully at the H.J. McFarland Memorial Home on Monday, July 5th, 2021 in her 90th year. Daughter of the late Sarah (Sadie) and Albert Yearwood. Much loved wife of the late Robert Burton “Burt” Brandon. Dear mother of Dwain (Robert) and his wife Deanne, Terry (John) and his wife Carol, Rod and his wife Ondine and Tracey. Proud grandmother of Brett (Joelle), Emiline (Adam), Nicholas (Stacey), Christopher (Parvaneh), Jamie (Lizanne), Brandon (Jennica), Daulton, Daniel, Sarah (Johnathan) and great grandchildren Gavin, Austin, Kyden, Killian, Mylah, Andy and Vienna. Jean is also predeceased by her brother and sister , Leona ‘Betty’ Cooney (Doug) and Gerald ‘Chip’ Yearwood (Donna). She will also be dearly missed by nieces and nephews Brenda, Bruce, Donnie, Bonnie and Liz (Elizabeth). Jean was born on April 22, 1932, and grew up in Madoc, Ontario. In the 1940’s she modeled bangs in several hairstyle magazines before taking the first prize in a beauty pageant in 1949. In the early 1950s, she moved to Picton with her husband Burt. Jean worked for several years as the senior secretary at Queen Elizabeth School in Picton until 1979, when she left her job there to open a paint and wallpaper store called Brandon’s Decorating Den, which she operated out of the mall for a few years before moving out onto the main street in what used to be the Globe Hotel. Prior to residing at the McFarland Memorial Home, she lived on Lake Street, Prospect Avenue, Ontario Street, Washburn Street and White Chapel Road.
