Wellington Beach posted unsafe for swimming ahead of Labour Day weekend

A local beach has been posted unsafe for swimming on summer’s unofficial send off weekend.

Wellington Bay and Rotary Club of Wellington Beach has been found by Hastings Prince Edward Public Health (HPEPH) to have E. coli bacteria levels that exceed the provincial standard. When E. coli bacteria levels exceed the provincial standard, the bathing beach is considered unsafe for swimming, and a warning is issued by HPEPH.

Additional information, including a list of all beaches currently safe for swimming, is available on the Public Beach Reports section at hpePublicHealth.ca. Updated beach reports will be posted on the Friday of each week throughout beach monitoring season.
