Nearly 600 minor hockey players skated into Prince Edward County this weekend

Upwards of 30 teams called Prince Edward County home this weekend as the Prince Edward County Minor Hockey Association hosted its annual Milk tournament presented by the Prince Edward County Dairy Producers.

Youth hockey teams from as far away as Ottawa, Muskoka and Paris descended upon the municipality as both Lehigh and Huff Estates Arenas hosted games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Deseronto Arena also was a satellite location and hosted regulation games on Friday and Saturday.

The tournament, which welcomed nearly 600 players and their families to Prince Edward County, serves as a fundraiser for the for the PECMHA and brings upwards of $1 million of economic activity to the Quinte region.

The tournament wrapped up at Lehigh on Sunday with the U11 Paris Wolfpack, U13 Elmvale Coyotes, U15 Napanee Stars and U18 Parry Sound Shamrocks emerging as 2023 Milk Tourney champions.
