October 16–23
6.30pm
By candlelight, explore the historic graveyard at the former St. Mary Magdalene’s Church with an experienced guide. Say hello to a number of its more memorable residents, including William Pierce whose 1860 gravestone was featured on Ripley’s Believe it or Not. The tour will then make its way to the nearby courthouse, where you’ll explore the exercise yards, jail cells and gallows, most famously used in the 1884 hanging of two local men, a sentence some say was based on dubious evidence…
Tickets are $20 for adult and $15 for under-16s. Register at ticketscene.ca (search “Gallows”).
