Details

Take a journey into expressive painting working with a single subject approached in various ways. Throughout this course led by artist instructor, Julie Seddon, you’ll experiment with various colour schemes and approaches to composition along with brush techniques and styles to expand your painterly vision.

We’ll discuss art historical references and work with various skill-building exercises in a supportive and encouraging environment. With personalized guidance, you will improve your paint mixing and brush handling techniques. Beginners are welcome as well as more seasoned painters, as we learn from our own and each other’s experiences. We will use group critique to encourage direction and celebrate triumphs.

Students should bring a few photographs of choices for potential subjects (a still-life object like a bottle, vegetable, or plant) to the first class.
