Cyanotype Printing at Macaulay House

Join PEC artist Sara Keller for a hands-on cyanotype workshop inspired by the historic setting of Macaulay House. Cyanotype is one of the earliest photographic processes, invented around the same time this house was built, making it a perfect fit for exploring history through art.

This workshop is designed to be relaxed, creative, and beginner-friendly. Sara will start with a short introduction to the cyanotype process and a few historical notes, then guide participants through creating their own prints using botanicals, textiles, and found objects. You’ll experiment, make multiple prints, and learn how light and shadow create cyanotype’s signature deep blue tones. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with 3-5 prints and a deeper understanding of this beautiful early photography process.

No experience needed—all materials are provided.
