Join interdisciplinary artists Nanotopia (Tosca Terán and Andrei Gravelle) for an evening sound journey at the County Arts Lab, a preview of their upcoming installation at Hotel Confidential.

Working with analog modular synthesizers, field recordings, and live signal processing, Nanotopia creates soundscapes that unfold through a quadraphonic spatial environment, allowing tones to drift and circulate through the room.

At the heart of the performance is the biodata-sonification of living mycelium. Electrodes grown within fungal mycelium circulate the bio-electrical signals through biodata modules that convert them into control voltages for the synthesizer, enabling the fungi to shape the soundscape in real time.

Improvised live, the set moves through deep drones, delicate textures, and shifting rhythms. Guests are invited to lie down, close their eyes, and sink into the sound.

Inspired by fungal networks and the hidden life beneath forest floors, the performance offers a glimpse into Nanotopia’s ongoing exploration of more-than-human collaboration.

Please bring a yoga mat, or blanket to lie on to enjoy the sound bath. Chairs will also be available for folks who prefer to sit.
