Picton United Church’s original community hall/Sunday School building has been the foundation for food and community since it was constructed in 1899. Heritage architect Edwin Rowse will lead attendees on a journey through the centuries of architectural history behind this remarkable seven-sided Sunday School structure. Edwin’s talk and a tour of the Sunday School space will set the scene for culinary historian Liz Driver, long-time kitchen maven Betty Laundry, and church member Debra Marshall to share their insights into the church’s recipe booklets, community events and today’s Picton United Church Food Bank. Join the conversation during the Q&A following the four speakers. Traditional afternoon refreshments will be served.
