Join artist instructor Julie Seddon in this acrylic painting course, exploring color and style through art historical movements! Embark on a creative adventure where you’ll explore the interplay of color and style in acrylic paint, using a single subject of your choice as your muse. Throughout this course, you’ll experiment with various color schemes (complementary, analogous, neutral) and diverse painting styles (Realism, Impressionism, Abstract Expressionism) to breathe new life into your artistic expression. By combining color theory with art history, you’ll discover innovative ways to depict your chosen object and develop your unique painting style. With personalized guidance, you’ll also improve your paint mixing and brush handling techniques.
Students should bring a few photographs of choices for potential subjects (a still-life object like a bottle, vegetable, or plant) to the first class.
