As the new year begins, Oeno Gallery invites you to Making Luck: Methods and Materials, an exhibition that celebrates a distinctive group of fine contemporary artists who work in an extraordinary range of media.
“I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.” Stephen Leacock
Artists don’t bet on having luck; they work hard to make their own.
Brave action seems to attract good fortune. It’s an intuitive dance. Artists spend thousands of hours in the studio exploring their singular vision, honing technique, and experimenting with materials.
This show highlights the deep commitment behind each artist’s practice, showing how sustained effort and a curated selection of materials can lead to an inspired outcome.
Our artists: Mark Bartkiw, Shireen Kamran, Ciba Karisik, Chung-Im Kim, Yvonne Lammerich, Claude Millette, Rod Mireau, Ivo Stoyanov, and exciting new works from Lucy Maki and featured local artist Claudia McCabe.
On display: Works in oil and acrylic paint, wood, industrial felt, steel, and papier-mâché́ featuring diverse techniques–Impasto, glazing, collage, casting, stitching, 3D printing, photography, and hand forging.
Join us for the opening Saturday January 17th from 2-4pm.
