Prince Edward County artists and creators Anne Du Bois, Dianne Beauregard, Delane Cooper and Andrea Piller come together for Inspirare, a collaborative art exhibition taking place October 10 and 11 at D. Beauregard Studio in Bloomfield.
Inspirare, Latin for “to breathe into,” explores a unique, interlaced collaboration where the visual, tactile and olfactory come together. These four artists have created opportunities for creative conversations, crossing boundaries by merging paint, sculpture, clay, jewelry and natural fragrance into multi-sensory works. This creative challenge allowed each artist to explore new possibilities, dive deeper into their creative process and discover unexpected connections between their individual practices, while exploring themes of landscape, touch, memory and ecological interconnectedness.
Visitors are invited to experience the collaboration both indoors and out, throughout Dianne Beauregard’s studio and gardens. All the fragrances can be experienced on their own and as they are in conversation with the other Artists’ media, while all four artists will be present to talk about the work. ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Anne Du Bois invites you to rethink your relationship with scent as she explores the art of fragrance as a vehicle for memory, emotion, experience and storytelling. Her work with whole-plant, natural perfumery explores how the nuances of raw materials can relate to the visual and emotional centres of the human condition.
Dianne Beauregard is a contemporary, abstract-expressionist painter whose work draws inspiration from her deep love of land and nature and features bold and colourful narratives. Living in rural Prince Edward County, Dianne shows her work in both local and Toronto exhibits and galleries.
Delane Cooper is a goldsmith and artist. She has invited her friends, Metal, Gemstone, Wood and Other Objects, to amuse themselves in the Inspirare playground, engaging in play and creating stories of love, grief, magic and mystery.
Andrea Piller is an artist whose hand-built stoneware and porcelain works are recognized for their asymmetrical forms, richly textured surfaces and layered treatments, inspired by close observation of the natural world. She explores themes of landscape, touch, memory and ecological interconnectedness.
ADMISSION: Free, with optional donations to the David Suzuki Foundation’s Butterflyway Project. On-site parking is available. Please note the venue is not wheelchair accessible.
