December 13
1–4pm
Join us for a relaxed afternoon of learning, seed sowing, and socialising!
We’ve lined up two great beginner-friendly workshops:
– Ewa Bednarczuk will lead a short workshop on hand-sowing in winter: “You’ll learn how to pick the right spot, create a native seed mix, and hand sow a mini meadow that will burst into life come spring.”
– Lise Bois will lead a short workshop on container-based winter sowing: “Learn how to sow your seeds in containers in winter to get a head start on your 2026 garden.”
Afterwards, we’ll enjoy hot drinks and sweet treats as we sow – and share – native plants for our gardens! At the end, everyone will take home at least one container of winter sown seeds.
Refreshments, seeds, containers, and sowing medium will all be provided – but you are welcome to sow from your own seed collection! We would love to have a good range of seeds available, so if you have extras (or spare containers*) to share then please bring them along.
This event is FREE, donations are welcome – they help us to host more events like this one! Please register at www.CountyGardenClub.ca/dec25
* plastic containers with a lid and holes work best for winter sowing, e.g. salad containers
