Barry Joseph McMurter

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the sudden passing of Barry Joseph McMurter on September 30, 2024, at the at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, Picton, Ontario at the age of 77. Barry was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary. He was a loving father of Chris (Andrea Myers) and Lisa and grandfather to Joseph, Alexandra, Molly, Courtney (Gerry), Briea (Robert) and Tyra. Barry also left behind a couple great grand babies and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.  Barry is survived by his brothers Don (late Linda), Greg (Lola), Pat (late Wendy), and Iain (Tania Marsh), as well as his sisters Carol Phillips (John) and Kimberly Westerveld. He was predeceased by his sister Victoria (late Andrew).  Beloved son of the late George & Dorothy (nee Masterson). Barry will be remembered by many, especially his good friends Dave Macey and Dave Bonter.  Barry was the former president of the Orono Hunt and Fish Club. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 78, Picton, Ontario. A celebration of life will be held on October 26, 2024, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Wild Lot Distillery in Picton.  Condolences messages and donation cards may be left with the Burke Funeral Home at www.burkefuneral.ca
