With a heart full of love, and a lifetime of memories, Clayton Leroy Vader, of Cherry Valley, a farmer through and through, died peacefully at the age of 95. Devoted husband of the late Marjorie Vader (nee Keene). Proud father of the late Roger Steenburgh (Dorothy), Dale Houlding, Valerie Botts (Paul), and the late Jeff Vader (late Debbie). Loving husband of the late Marlene Baverstock. Caring stepfather of Floyd Baverstock (Sue), and David Baverstock (Sabrina). As the eldest, he was admired by his siblings Arnold Vader (late Mary), Joyce Smith (late Gord), Gena Striker (Matt) and Dana Vader (Joanne). A man whose lap was very rarely empty, Pampy was adored and will be missed by three generations of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. As a man of many hats in his community, and to his family, he was well respected and will be fondly remembered and missed. A lifelong dairy farmer and maple syrup producer with years of service as Athol Township’s Road Superintendent, and a School Board Trustee. In his retirement, he enjoyed wood cutting, gardening, fall leaf tours, a good hockey game, Sunday morning coffee, and his family. Mr. Vader rested at Rushnell Funeral Homes – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street (613-476-2450). Funeral Service in the Chapel on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 2 pm with visitation for 2 hours before the Service. Rev. Phil Hobbs officiating. Interment Cherry Valley Cemetery.
