Cole, Charles Edward

March 2nd, 1949 - January 12th, 2024

With heavy hearts the family of Charlie Cole announce that he died peacefully in the early hours of January 12th, 2024, aged 74. A lifelong County boy, Charlie was born in Picton and was the eldest son of his predeceased parents Laverne and Rose Cole. He was the much loved older brother to Robert, Lynda (Larry), and Susan (Larry). Uncle Charlie will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews and their families.
Charlie’s fun and loving way will be greatly missed by his cherished wife of 37 years Penny, and his children Bruce (Teresa), Adam, Wade (Chris), Sara, TJ (Julia). He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Isabella, Scarlett, Macauley, Jaidyn, and Charlie.
Charlie enjoyed the great outdoors, having spent many enjoyable hours with his wide circle of loving friends and family making great memories on the lake or at the trailer. These memories we will all hold close to our hearts as we remember all the great times.
Many will remember Charlie at Canadian Tire, where he had the reputation of being everyone’s favourite ‘go to’ guy for many years. He loved following his grandchildren’s many achievements and took great pride in them. A Leafs fan for life, he always loved watching the game to see if this was finally the year. Up at dawn on a still morning to watch the deer at the salt lick or the songbirds at the many feeders he kept topped up, were a source of joy for him. We are all appreciative of the many things that he taught us.
As per Charlie’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be announced and take place later this summer at Quinte’s Isle Campark.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt thank you to the many people who have reached out since his passing to offer condolences and fond memories.  In lieu of flowers, Charlie would have appreciated memorial donations to Hospice Prince Edward.  Online condolences at www.ainsworthfuneralhome.com
