With heavy hearts we announce the passing of David Warrick who died peacefully at the Kensington Hospice in Toronto on Thursday, August 7, 2025. David recently celebrated his 80th birthday with a party in Toronto surrounded by family and friends. He felt he had reached a significant milestone and as he looked back on his life he realized how fortunate he had been to have had so many significant experiences in his life, to have a loving family, to have travelled extensively, have several degrees, and have many friends in both Toronto and Prince Edward County. Survived by his beloved wife Marilyn who supported and enabled his dreams for fifty three years, his son John and his wife Amy, his granddaughters Lily and Chloe who all live in Scottsdale, Arizona; his daughter in law Alexandra and son in law Marcus, his granddaughter Audrey and grandson Benton, who live in Toronto; his brother Ian who lives with his wife Kate in the Yukon; his nephews Sean, Trevor, Peter and Colin. Predeceased by his son Julian and his brother Kenneth. David was a professor at Humber College in Toronto for thirty years where he taught courses in Humanities and Communications. He loved learning, exploring new places and especially meeting people and chatting with friends. Never one for small talk, he loved to delve into the big issues of the day. He studied history and he loved Canada and respected those who have gone before him to create this great country. He felt so privileged to have so many friends and family visiting and sending their best wishes in the last weeks of his life. He will be greatly missed by so many. A Celebration of Life will be held later.
