Donald Mack Snider was introduced to the world in Windsor, Ontario, on August 23, 1936, to parents, Gordon and Ellen Snider (nee Mack) of Windsor. Don will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 45 years, Helen (nee Holmes), children Gregory (Peggy), David, Sherry Lynn (Harvey), Deborah Fern (Doug), and Penny (Gordon). Poppy Don was adored and will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Ashlynn, Kyle,Lindsey, Cierra and Bretton, and also by his great grandchildren, Quinn, Graeson, Jax and Niko. Don was predeceased by his sister, Brenda, and grandson, Adrian. Don was a secondary mathematics teacher for 28 years and enjoyed his time as Mathematics Teacher and Department Head at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute from 1971 to 1991. Don and Helen were an adventurous pair and enjoyed many travels abroad, including teaching at the Canadian International School in Singapore. Don and Helen were avid sailors and spent many splendid hours with children, grandchildren and friends, often on their sailboat, and later in life, on the Driftin’ Inn, a classic 1987 Chris-Craft Catalina. Don’s special interests included building and renovating houses, woodworking, chess, private equity investing, and spending winters in Naples, Florida. Don enjoyed and loved his many friends and colleagues and will be sadly missed. He had many wonderful memories of good times together. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
