Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Hickey (nee Brown), of Picton, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024 at Hospice Prince Edward after 94 vibrant years of life. Born in Sudbury, Liz grew up with her loving parents, John & Margaret (nee Watts) Brown and brother Kenneth, who instilled great pride in her Welsh heritage. Liz embarked on many adventures with the late Harry Emil Hickey, including time spent in Toronto at Holeman & Hickey, making cherished memories at their cottage in Buckhorn, dabbling as farmers on Manitoulin Island, and enjoying retired life by volunteering in Picton. Beloved to son James and Judy Hickey of Jacksonville, Florida, where a spot on their sailboat and glass of champagne was always available for mom. Grandma will be fondly remembered by grandchildren Julie (Brian) and Jessica (Robert), shared with former daughter-in-law Janice, and by great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Mallory, Elliott, and Raya, who were inspired by her special care for animals and people in need. Liz is reunited with Baby Bobby, who’s memory she carried throughout her life. In keeping with Liz’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services at this time. Cremation has taken place. If desired, donations to Hospice Prince Edward would be appreciated by the family.
