Helen Ricco

June 19, 1930 – March 26, 2024

Peacefully entered into rest on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Helen Ricco of Prinyers Cove, RR#4, Picton, died at the age of 93. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Fenwick (nee Craig) and was the loving wife of 73 years to the late Leonard ‘Len’ Ricco. Helen was the cherished mother of Barbara and mother-in-law to her husband Larry Lilly of RR#4, Picton, and also mother-in-law of Leo Brett of Woodbridge. She is predeceased by her daughter Carolyn Brett and son Stephen. Helen was the dearest grandmother of Tara and Lee Brett, and great grandmother of Brett Emburgh. She is predeceased by her great granddaughter Brooke Emburgh. Helen is predeceased by her sisters Allison Eddie and Joyce Clark and will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Helen touched many lives and will be remembered as a most generous being, kind soul and loving friend. Everyone was welcome in her home. She enjoyed a good party – it is imagined that she is already dancing with our dearly departed family members, who have welcomed her in paradise. Thank You to Blessed Bridges and staff, you were a lifeline for our family for a number of years. Heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff at the Briargate Retirement Home. Your compassion and level of care were a great comfort to mom and our family.   Helen is resting at Rushnell Funeral Homes – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street (613-476-2450). A Memorial Service will be held in Chapel on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 2 pm with visitation for 1 hour prior to the Service. A Reception & Celebration to follow at Burley Hall, 3442 County Road 7, Cressy at 3 pm. Private Inurnment in the family plot at Cressy United Church Cemetery at a later date. If desired, donations to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
