Hendrik Johan Prinzen

October 4, 1926 - January 8, 2025

On Jan 8, 2025 Hendrik (Henk) passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in his 99th year. Predeceased by his first wife Jikke Huizenga (1953) and seven of his nine siblings. Beloved husband of Didy Hoven whom he was married to for over 67 years and with whom he had 4 children. Dear Dad to Fred (Debby), Rick (Vivien), Deborah, and Esther (Jonathan) and loving Papa to Mirjana. Special Opa and Grandpa to Jordan (Jared), Justine (Spencer), Nolan (Daphnée), Aaron, Meaghan (Nathan), Ethan, Jaclyn (Brandon), Joel and Nathaniel. Proud Great-Grandfather to Navey, Lola and Oaklée. Survived by his sister Annie, brother Ben (Margie) and Sister-in-laws, Audrey and Mary. Hendrik was born in IJzerlo, Gelderland, The Netherlands on Oct 4, 1926, the 2nd of 10 children. He immigrated from The Netherlands to Prince Edward County with his family in 1948. He married Didy in 1957 and settled in Whitby, ON. Hendrik worked for General Motors for 25yrs and for many years also had a small engine repair business at home. He loved his family dearly and was so very proud of all of them. The family wish to thank the numerous staff at Paramed, St. Elizabeth and Community Care for their compassionate care and dedication in helping us keep Dad at home for many years. In particular, thank you to Marian, Adele and Millie who held special roles in his care. Family and friends will be received at Mount Lawn Funeral Home on Tues. Jan.14th from 11am until the time of the service in the chapel at 12pm, followed by a reception. Interment to be held at a later date at Glenwood Cemetery, Picton, ON. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hebron Christian Reformed Church would be appreciated
