In Loving Memory of Janice Arlene Lindle

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Janice Arlene Lindle, a woman whose kindness, love, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. On October 12, 2024, Janice passed peacefully in her bed, embraced by the quiet stillness of a life well-lived. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the kind of warmth that will be felt forever by her family and friends.

Known lovingly as Jan to most, and as Momma Jan and Nanny to her cherished grandchildren, Janice was a pillar of strength and love. She lived her life with boundless generosity, always putting others before herself and filling every room she entered with a gentle joy. Her late husband, James Edward Lindle—fondly known as Jim, and "Poppy" to his grandchildren—was her devoted partner for 45 beautiful years. Together, they shared not only a life of love but also the pride of owning and operating Putterfield Farms in Fish Lake and Mac’s Taxi, where they served their community with dedication and heart.

Janice’s impact was felt across Prince Edward County, where for 35 years, she delivered not just mail, but smiles, to the homes along her rural route in Demorestville. Perhaps some of her fondest memories were the many years she helped Santa Claus by responding to children’s heartfelt letters. Her kindness was woven into every part of her life, from baking pies for the Picton Curling Team to her work at Cozy Corners, where she was always ready with a smile and a helping hand.

Her love was also shared with those in need of care, through her work as a Personal Support Worker at Howell House and her time with TAS Telephone Answer Service and Terry's Taxi Answering Service. No matter where Janice found herself, she brought compassion and warmth to every role, touching the lives of those around her in ways that words cannot fully express.

Janice was a woman of many talents. Her creativity knew no bounds, whether it was crafting, painting, or working with ceramics—her love was in every piece she created. She had an eye for beauty, but more importantly, she had a heart full of love for those around her.

She leaves behind her beloved son, David, who brought her so much pride and joy. David is the proud father of Brandon, Johnathan (engaged to Megan), Chantel, and Samantha, all from prior relationships, and together with his partner Amy, who brings three wonderful children into their blended family, they are a testament to the deep love Janice had for her growing family. Janice also leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren—Charlie, Mia, and two little ones both named Phoenix—who were the light of her later years.

She is also survived by her closest and dearest brother, Tony Code, and his wife, Brenda, whose love and support were ever-present in her life. Janice’s faithful dog, Chica, will now be lovingly cared for by her best friend, Dawn, who stood by her side through thick and thin.

To all the PSWs, nurses, doctors, and medical staff who lovingly cared for Janice in her final days, her family extends their deepest gratitude. Your kindness and compassion meant the world to her and brought comfort to those she held dear.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Janice's memory to [Simpler Times](https://stkingston.simplertimes.com/), where she was cremated according to her wishes.

Janice will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her. She was a wonderful mother, a loving grandmother, a devoted wife, a caring sister, and a beloved aunt. Most of all, she was an incredible person who brought joy, light, and love to the lives of so many. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Rest in peace, dear Janice.
