It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Courtney Todd, who left us peacefully on March 22, 2026, surrounded by his family at Picton hospital. Born and raised in Picton, John was a true County boy through and through. He spent 30 years as a dedicated employee at Prince Edward Heights, and even in retirement, he couldn’t sit still—spending his later years greeting neighbors and friends at No Frills. While John was a lifelong, die-hard Montreal Canadiens fan, his true passions were closer to home. He loved camping, long walks on the beach, and could be found in his garden—likely battling his arch-nemeses, the squirrels and dandelions. He was never happier than when he was outdoors, preferably with a cold beer in hand and his family by his side. John is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Maureen (Hutchings), and his daughters: Tabitha Dupont (Andrew), Tamara Young (Jason), and Taryn Bondy (Adam). He was the proud “Grumpa” to Evelyn, Kieran, Sophia, Colin, Zach, Caleb, and Nate. He is survived by his brother, Chris Todd, and many nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by his sister, Carole Armstrong, and his parents, Robert and Phillis Todd. We want to thank the doctors, nurses & PSWs that took such good care of John during the past year. If desired, donations to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation “Back the Build” or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. A Celebration of Life for John will take place Friday, June 19/26 2-5pm at The Elks Hall, 21 Elk St Picton,
