It is with deep sadness that we announce that June Mary Macaulay died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, December 15th, 2025 at Hospice Prince Edward where she was cared for with kindness and compassion. She is predeceased by her parents Cyril and Mary Lee (nee Brand) and by her beloved husband of sixty-seven years, Colin. Survived by her three daughters: Jane (Peter), Susan (Glenn), Sarah (Stan), four grandchildren: Drew (Nat), Jan (Noushon), Liam and Natalia and her three great grandchildren, Theo, June and Remi. June’s happiest moments were with Colin in their home on the lake where they enjoyed reading, listening to music and gardening. It was a home filled with the memories of family gatherings where her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren loved to spend time and visitors always felt welcome. She loved animals and was interested in her community and politics where integrity and compassion guided her throughout her life. June and Colin traveled together extensively to England where she was born and they met; in fact travel was an interest they shared and they enjoyed visiting family, friends and meeting new people. They made enduring friendships wherever they travelled. The family wishes to express its appreciation and gratitude to the many caregivers who supported June and Colin, the Manor on Loyalist Parkway, staff members of The Wellings of Picton, Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, Prince Edward Family Health Team and especially Hospice Prince Edward as well as June’s many friends and neighbours. A Dual Celebration of Colin & June’s lives will take place at a later date in the spring. If desired, donations to Hospice Prince Edward, the Loyalist Humane Society, or Amnesty International would be appreciated.
