It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laura Mcauley (nee Young), age 89, formerly of Lake-on-the-Mountain Road in Prince Edward County, on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at her home. Laura was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Gerald Mcauley, her parents, late Oay & Pearl Young (nee Perry), and her brother Fred Young. She will be remembered by her son John (Angela Cesario) of Oshawa, her nephews Gary Young (Erylane) of Brooklin, John Young (Cathy) of Texas, and her niece Julie Bulzak (Kenny) of Mississauga, and their families. Laura will be remembered for her kind heart and the many friendships that she nurtured throughout her life. Mrs. Mcauley is resting at Rushnell Funeral Homes – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street, (613- 476-2450) for visitation on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 11 am – 12:45 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 7 Church Street, Picton, on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 1 pm. Cremation to follow. Rite of Committal with Prayers at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Picton, at a later date. John and Angela would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the Picton Detachment of the OPP, the Durham-Oshawa Regional Police for their assistance and compassion.
