Laurie, Joan Elizabeth
Joan was born in Stoke-On-Trent, England on September 22, 1935, and peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, in her 90th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years Gordon Herbert Laurie (2016). Beloved mother of Karen Sciuk (Robert), Suzanne Monk (John), David Laurie (Patti), and Ian Laurie (Kirsten). Cherished grandmother of Michelle, Meghan, Bryan, Natasha (Abbas), Austin, Logan, Tegan, and Gemma. Dear sister of Judith Burcher (Bob) of England and beloved aunt to Elizabeth and Jonathon Burcher.

Upon retirement from their careers Joan and Gordon moved from Streetsville several hours east to the Prince Edward County area of Ontario, remaining there for the next approximately 30 years. As an avid painter and illustrator, her grandchildren benefitted from several years of Granny 's Art Camp at their Cherry Valley, Prince Edward County home. Joan was a proud member of the Cherry Valley Women’s Institute with many good friends there. We will all miss the warm smile and twinkling eyes of our dear Mum and Granny. 

As per Joan’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.
