Lloyd Douglas Leavitt, in his 84th year, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Picton, Ontario, Canada. A man of great dedication and warmth, Lloyd was deeply cherished by his community and family. Lloyd was renowned for his hardworking nature and immense dedication to his family. He committed much of his time to the Cherry Valley Lions Club, where his efforts were recognized with a Melvin Jones Fellow Plaque. His generosity and kindness left a lasting impact on all those he encountered. Lloyd was not only stubborn but immensely kind, a man whose big heart and willingness to lend a hand were legendary in his community. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Irene (nee Deshane), and their children: Douglas, Christopher (Felicia), Patrick (Terry Lynn), Julie (late Terry), and Matthew (Joanne). Lloyd was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Elizabeth. Professionally, Lloyd was the owner of the Cherry Valley Dairy Bar and had a longstanding career at Lafarge Canada. His commitment to his work reflected his robust work ethic and community spirit. His hobbies included an active participation in the Lions Club, bowling with the Picton bowling league, and he was an avid hunter, always eager to share stories of his adventures. Lloyd’s life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and community. His legacy of kindness and dedication will live on through the many lives he touched.
