Rena passed away just short of her 97th birthday. Daughter of the late Walter Seay and Lily Blanche Harder. Beloved wife of the late George Wesley Cunningham (1992). Born into the Harder family, she was 1 of 11 siblings. Predeceased by her brothers, sisters and in-laws; Byron (Thelma), Douglas (Gloria), Clara (Thorld), Richard (Anna), Maitland (Peggy), Harrison (Viola), Walter, Rita, Winfield (Theresa), and Rolland Larson. Survived by her sister Nettie, and in-laws Max Drew, and Joan Harder. Married into the Cunningham family, George being 1 of 9 siblings is predeceased by in-laws Norris (Kathryn), Lewis (Loyola), Bryan (Isabelle), Barton (Jean), Lillian (Donald Sandercock), Wilma (Reginald Paul), Lindley (Marion), and Shirley. Survived by in-law Donald Ostrander.
Rena was a teacher, 4 H leader, member of the Women’s Institute, sister, aunt, wife, and last but not least mother of six. Survived by her children Jane, Richard, Ellen, Jeffrey (Anne-Marie), Glenn (Maureen), Caleb, and her 7 grandchildren Benjamin (Natalie), Zachary (Jessica), Alexander, Emily, Avery, Tyler (Kylie), and Delaney. Survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In respect to Rena’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at the RUSHNELL FUNERAL HOME – 60 Division Street, Trenton (613-392-2111) on Thursday, March 5th, 2026 at 2p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Quinte would be greatly appreciated.
