Richard Paul Morris (Paul) age 88 of Picton passed away peacefully at Belleville General Hospital on January 26, 2026. Survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Martha Morris (nee Drees). Son of the late Gwendoline (nee Henley) and Irvine “Barney” Morris. Pre-deceased by his late sister Elaine Stirling (and her husband Wally). Loved father to the late Michael Murdock. Cherished Grandpa to Alex and Natalie and Great Grandfather to their children. Loved Uncle to many nieces and nephews (Carman, Laurie, Mary Lou, Lisa, and Ritchie). He will be missed by his many cousins in the Picton and surrounding area. Paul was an interesting man and was interested in many things. He grew up in Picton and lived his young adult life in Hamilton working as a Duty Manager on the docks for the Hamilton Harbour Commission. He met Martha and Michael and they became his world. He loved going to Michael’s hockey games and loved being his dad. He retired early at age 45 and eventually moved back to Picton. He embraced his life as a grandpa teaching card games and magic tricks to Alex and Natalie, teaching them to fish, taking them for ice cream and cheese curds, and generally sharing his love of Picton with them. He eventually ran for City Councillor Ward 1 and proudly served his Constituents for many years. Paul will always be remembered by his nieces and nephews as the fun uncle who was in a band, played the guitar, and drove a cool car. Paul was the ultimate storyteller. He loved telling jokes and loved seeing others laugh. He had the happiest smile. He will be missed. Cremation has taken place. Special thanks to Mike & Sophie Foster, Elley Gannon, and Jean & Barry Manloh.
