It is with deep sadness that we share of the sudden passing of Scott Lawson (February 24, 1961 to March 17, 2026). Scott was son of William “Bill” and Jean Lawson (both deceased), a proud father to Katelyn Lawson (JohnRoss Woodland) and Gavin Lawson (Kayla Kelly), and loving grandfather to Adelynn Woodland and Maeve Lawson. Scott spent most of his career making a positive impact in Ontario through his work as Executive Director and consultant to many non-profits such as the Air Cadet League of Ontario, East Central Ontario Training Board, Goodwill, Community Living Prince Edward and Special Olympics Canada. In recent decades, his non-profit work focused on helping young people with skills development for the workforce, which was a passion of his, and will be an enduring legacy. Outside of work, Scott enjoyed his three rescue dogs (Lily, Fran and Peggy), music and playing guitar, bird watching, wood working, sports like pingpong and golf, watching the Leafs, reading, gardening, honouring his Scottish heritage, and having a good debate. Originally growing up in Maple, Ontario, he later moved to Prince Edward County over 30 years ago where he raised his family and enjoyed many years of coaching soccer, supporting the local theatre groups, and enjoying all that the area had to offer. His close and cherished friends and immediate family will miss him greatly, and will remember him as someone who loved to host and enjoy the outdoors, especially with his grand daughters in recent years.
