It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Sharon Norrine Tate (formerly Ogilvie, nee Closser), on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at her home in Picton, Sharon, formerly of Toronto, passed away at the age of 75. Beloved mother of Catharine Ogilvie Laurin (Jeremy) of Picton and Doug Ogilvie (late Sylvia) of Toronto, cherished grandmother of Ethan (Scout) and former wife of Ted Ogilvie and the late Andy Tate. Sharon was a loving sister to Vickey Crump (late Larry) of Kansas City, MO, Suzie Cook (late Rex) of Phoenix, AZ, Kim Angerbrandt (late John), the late Penny Close all of Port Huron, MI, Laura Polizzi (Kirk) of Wilmington, NC, Travis Closser (Traci), Cole Closser (late Penny) and Carla Sabash (Paul) all of Washington, PA. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and friends, who will forever cherish the beautiful memories they shared with her. If angels walked among us, Sharon was surely one of them. Her profound love for all living creatures began in her childhood on a farm in Pennsylvania and continued throughout her life. In her later years in Prince Edward County, her yard was a sanctuary for countless stray cats, birds, and squirrels, all looking for their next meal or a safe haven from the bad weather. Her beautiful energy lit up every room she entered, and her compassionate heart touched everyone she met. Sharon’s legacy of love, kindness and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. In keeping with Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, to be announced. If desired, donations to the Loyalist Humane Society, where she volunteered, would have meant so much to her. Arrangements entrusted to Rushnell Funeral Homes – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street (613-476-2450). Online condolences at: www.rushnellfuneralhomes.com
