It is with great sadness, but gratitude for a life well lived and the legacy left behind, that we announce the passing of our Mom, Susan Elizabeth Rose (nee Calver), on Oct 17th at the age of 77, with her daughter by her side. Predeceased by her parents, William Calver and Ruth Calver (Hooper). Beloved wife of the late Rick, loving and devoted Mom to Tanya, Mark, and Erin (Matt). Loved by her grandchildren Ryan, Tyler, and Thomas. Susan will be sorely missed by her brothers Alan (Darlene), Chris (Roxanne), Frank (Stephanie), and her sister-in-law Sandra. Left to mourn are her nieces, nephews, many cousins, and all her wonderful friends that she so cherished.
Our Mom was a proud and devoted member of this community. Through her countless years spearheading the Angel Tree Campaign, a decade of commitment to the Picton Pirates and so many hours spent at The Rose House Museum and other locations, she leaves a long legacy of service in Prince Edward County.
We would like to thank the exceptional staff at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, most notably Emma Watson, Brandi Banfield, Jamie Hicks, and Christine Caldwell-Brummell for the care shown to our Mom over the past month. We couldn’t be more grateful for how you treated Mom during her time there – you are all true guardian angels.
A celebration of life will be held at the North Marysburgh Recreation Hall on Sunday November 1st from 1-4pm. We look forward to seeing everyone and sharing stories and laughs that afternoon.
If desired, we ask for any memorial donations to be made to the PEC Angel Tree Campaign that was so near and dear to Mom’s heart.
