Peacefully entered into rest at Hospice Prince Edward, on Monday, June 9, 2025, Tom Downie of Cherry Valley, died at the age of 96. Son of the late William and Elizabeth Downie (nee McIntyre) and husband of the late Mary (nee Reid).  Cherished companion of Virginia Blemkie. Loving father of Brian (Rita) of Cherry Valley and the late Leslie. Dearest “Boopah” of Christopher (Amanda), Diana, Nicole (Kyle) and Victoria and Great “Boopah” of Cayden. Predeceased by his brother William and his sister Cathleen. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Tom was a true movie buff.  He enjoyed the classics, featuring all of the best known Hollywood stars of his youth. He was also an avid reader, and he had a large book collection, all of which Tom had read and enjoyed multiple times. In keeping with Tom’s wishes, there will be no services at this time. Cremation has taken place. If desired, donations to Hospice Prince Edward would be appreciated.
