William (Bill) Francis McDermott passed away peacefully at Belleville General Hospital November 18, 2024 at the age of 93. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Bill was born in Oakville Ontario August 14, 1931, eldest child of James Francis (Frank) and Grace (nee Stenhouse) McDermott. He is predeceased by sister Elizabeth (Douglas) Bridge and brother James (Joyce). Survived by brothers Anthony (Pam) and Jerome (Jane). He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Audrey Jean (nee Walker). He and Audrey had four children; Stephen (deceased), Julia (Dan) O’Neill of Picton, Michael, and Shelagh (Gord) Male of Ottawa. Bill will be sadly missed by grandchildren Patrick O’Neill of Yarmouth N.S., Jocelyn O’Neill of Picton, Lily Male and Colton Male both of Ottawa. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 399 Victoria Ave., Belleville, ON on Friday, December 6^th at 11 am.
