KINGSTON EXHIBITION.

Kingston, Sept. 23, 5 p.m.

Exhibition a great success. Goods not all on shelves yet, but palace crowded with contributions from East and West, and United States. Buildings the theme of universal admiration. The display of Machines, Agricultural Implements, Cattle, Horses, Sheep, &c., are very large. Fruits, Vegetables, Cereals, and Fancy work very fine, and of endless variety. Some fine pieces of Sculpture. There is a splendid display of Cutlery. Furniture in elegant profusion. The Educational Department attracts considerable attention. Lower Canada is well represented in its contributions. The fountain in the center of the building plays beautifully. Weather fine, but threatens rain this evening. The usual congregation is of Yankee shows. American pick-pockets are around, one, this morning, by a ruse, attempted to get hold of the Mayor’s civic chain, and went to the clerk saying that “the Governor was just coming in,” and “that the Mayor wanted the chain,” the clerk said, “let the Mayor send an order,” pick-pocket tried his confidence some but the clerk would not give the chain without an order, the pick-pocket sloped before the police could get hold of him. International Company here, with great and commendable enterprize, have erected an office in the building, Mr. Hough the Superintendant of the International Line is in attendance, and to his courtesy you are indebted for this dispatch. The instruments have been made expressly for the fair by Mr. Chubbock, of Utica, and are deservedly admired.
