Hundreds of friends, family and fans of Prince Edward County dairy farming joined together at Goreland Farms on Ameliasburgh’s Gore Road last Wednesday evening.
The occasion was the Prince Edward County Holstein Club’s 2025 Twilight Meeting.
The banquet and calf show is hosted at selected dairy farms across the municipality and is an annual agricultural calendar highlight.
The Pulver family opened their 160-head, four-robot milking barn to the delight of visitors, who were able to see a modern dairy operation in action.
After a Taylor Custom Meats feed of roast beef, the 4H Dairy Club held their calf show. Upwards of 30 Dairy Club members worked through the day to wash, clip and prep their calves.
The evening ended with first and second year dairy club members completing a showmanship class show.
Up next, club members will take part in the annual 4H livestock show at this year’s Picton Fair. Selected members will head to the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto in November.
