A local main stay on the local literary and entertainment calendar returns to a familiar haunt as an in-person celebration later this month.
On Thursday, April 20, 2023 the County’s preeminent literary debate, The County Reads, returns with a live public gathering. County Reads will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Church at 335 Main Street Picton at 7 p.m.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, County Reads was held online in 2022 and 2021 and aired on 99.3 County FM in 2020.
Tickets for this highly entertaining public debate that’s modelled after Canada Reads, are available in person at any branch of the library and at the door.
As is tradition, the event will help launch the 2023 County Author’s Festival.
The County Reads and the Prince Edward County Authors Festival are organized by the County of Prince Edward Public Library with a volunteer committee of book lovers.
This year’s brave defenders and their titles are:
Mary Ann Farrell – Greenwood by Michael Christie
Andrew Janikowski – Operation Angus by Terry Fallis
Dominique Jones – No More Nice Girls by Lauren McKeon

Ken Murray will return to moderate.
