A Belleville woman is facing driving while impaired charges after a mid-day crash in Ameliasburgh Thursday.
Shortly after 12 p.m. members from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County Detachment responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Road 3.
Officers located the vehicle and spoke to the driver. As a result of further investigation, the driver was arrested and taken to detachment for testing.

The driver was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on Jan 27, 2021. The driver was also given a 90 day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

• A Prince Edward County man has been charged Quinte West OPP for lurking around a Trenton-area business.
On Thursday at approximately 5:30 a.m., Quinte West OPP attended the business on Trenton Street, and after a search of the area the individual was located by officers. After a brief investigation, the accused was identified and arrested on outstanding warrants.
Erick Wallace, 24, of Prince Edward County has been charged with the following offences:
The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Feb. 18, 2021.
• Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County Detachment responded to a domestic call on Wed. Jan. 6, 2021 around 2:30 a.m. in Ameliasburgh Ward.
Officers arrived and conducted further investigation. As a result, a 49 year old male from Prince Edward County was arrested and charged with two counts of assault. The individual is to appear before the court at a later date. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

• The Ontario Provincial Police has received numerous complaints where members of the public from across the province received unsolicited emails which, when opened, contained links to images of child sexual abuse.
The emails, which were received from the email account [email protected] contained directions, that when followed unknowingly exposed the recipient to child sexual abuse imagery.
Recipients of emails from [email protected] are asked to contact their local police and to abstain from opening the emails.
The Ontario Provincial Police would like to remind the public to exercise caution when opening emails received from unfamiliar or unusual accounts. If unsure, a company’s legitimate contact information can typically be confirmed by visiting their website.
Anyone wanting to make a difference is encouraged to go to www.protectchildren.ca to download the “Child Sexual Abuse-It Is Your Business” brochure from the Canadian Center for Child Protection. This is an important first step that can save a child.
Parents are reminded to take a proactive approach to help protect their children from online sexual exploitation by speaking with their children regarding internet safety. Parents and anyone interested in protecting children can find resources to assist them at www.cybertip.ca.
