According to Hastings & Prince Edward Public Health, Oral Health Month is a great time to think about your and your family’s oral health care and wellbeing. Good oral health is directly linked to general overall health.
The good news is oral health issues are easily preventable and treatable. The best way to address oral health concerns is to get your teeth checked – so you can get treatment if needed. HPEPH has a dedicated team of oral health professionals who provide programs and services throughout the community, including in-school oral health screenings, educational events, and oral health clinics for individuals eligible for the Healthy Smiles or the Ontario Seniors Dental Care programs.
The Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP) provides high quality dental care to all seniors who qualify. You can apply for the program if you: are 65+; resident of Ontario; meet the income requirements: an annual net income of $22,200 or a combined annual net income of $37,100 or less for a couple; have no other dental benefits, including private insurance or dental coverage under another government program such as Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program or Non-Insured Health Benefits.
There are several options available for applying for the OSDCP: apply online at Ministry of Health website ontario.ca/SeniorsDental; visit Hastings Prince Edward Public Health to pick up an application form and/or get support with completing your application. Can’t find what you’re looking for online?
