Mr. Henry ran the County Marathon for 20 years before handing the reigns over to Brian McLean.
He and his partner, Ellis, restored a century-old farm into Fields on West Lake, a well known heritage event and wedding destination near Wellington.
The red barn property is celebrated as a visual icon of Prince Edward County.
He is running for councillor in Ward 2, Bloomfield Hallowell.
“I have seven grandchildren living in the County and I would love it If when they get older they can actually have a future here. That means attention to everything from the debt, to employment and affordable housing,” he says.
Henry did more listening than he did campaigning during his time at PELC, lending a close ear to issues like food security, and affordability.
“What are some of the things the County needs to do so we’re not living this way, and don’t have to experience this type of anxiety,” he asked the room of interested Constituents.
Henry has worked in agriculture throughout his adult life, and will be a voice for farmers in the region if elected.
“My focus is on the farm sector and agriculture. I want to see another line in every decision council makes that says, because of the environment, or I want to show we at least considered the environmental implications,” Henry said.
