Officers of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County Detachment were kept busy over the long weekend responding to a variety of calls.
As part of National Safe Boating Week, OPP officers were on local waterways, promoting safe boating and checking for safety equipment.
As a result of a vessel check, officers arrested a 39-year-old male from Brighton who was wanted on a committal warrant. The male was transported directly to a custody facility.
On Saturday, the OPP received a report of a gathering at an address on Scotts Mill Road. Officers arrived and located approximately a dozen people. Officers educated the parties on the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act and the individuals left the location.
That same day just after 9:30 p.m., OPP responded with Hastings-Quinte EMS and Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue to a multiple vehicle collision on Loyalist Parkway near Wellington. Two vehicles and an ATV were involved.
One person was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
