A life-drawing event and a showcase of upcoming programming offered by the Baxter Arts Centre will take place at the Grange winery this July. The evening promises to immerse both artists and the curious in a world of whimsy, creativity and celebration.
“BOHEMIA is an expanded version of the SALON fundraiser we held at Karlo Estates last summer. For this new event, we are also incorporating mini-classes featuring instructors from our upcoming programs. You can learn some basics of life drawing from Stew Jones or photography tips from Sean Ferguson. We will also have a demonstration in Tarot from Evangelia McDonald and a belly dancing class with Jenica Hammett,” said Program Manager Gabriele Cole.

Planning started in January. “We’ve wanted to work with The Grange for some time. Marlise is one of our incredible dance instructors, teaching Contemporary Dance in the fall, winter and spring,” said Ms. Cole.
The evening is dedicated to celebrating the human form with four models posing, draped and undraped, in the landscape. “This event is full of joy and creativity, just like Baxter, and we want to share that with the community. Plus, the Grange is the perfect venue; not only is it an idyllic setting with its pond, waterfall and vineyards, but it is secluded and perfect for life drawing,” added Ms. Cole.
The Baxter Arts Centre, in Bloomfield, has been working with community members for over a decade to create year-round arts, cultural, and creative programming.
Tickets are on sale now at $65 per person and include hors’ d’oeuvres and a drink. Guests can reserve their spot online or pay at the door.
The event takes place Tuesday, July 25th, from 4-7 p.m. at the Grange of Prince Edward at 990 Closson Rd, Hiller. For more information, click here or visit https://www.baxterartscentre.org/events
