FOR THE GAZETTE
Let’s jump back in time with Blomfield’s Baxter Arts Centre as they launch their first three programs in their new Date Night Series, where attendees learn how to create a vintage look with Jenica Hammett and Cheryl Singer.
Inspired by the upcoming Swing into the Future Fundraising Gala for the Prince Edward County Library and Archives, this fun
workshop will feature styles from the 1940s and how to make them look good on you and your partner.
Starting Friday, April 28, at 5:30 p.m. you will have the opportunity to see a variety of exhilarating programming perfect for getting out into the community.
Baxter would like parents to know that they do not have to stress over a babysitter for the night, as they offer parents the chance to have child care taken care of at the Empire Inn and Suites while they take some time to enjoy each other’s company.
Parents may also choose only to purchase a kids’ ticket. However, kids are not a requirement for this event.

This series is open to everyone. Each Date night will feature a program for adults with fun activities planned simultaneously at a nearby venue for children.
Sabrina and Norm, who own and run the Empire Inn and Suites, have opened up their fitness studio to Baxter so that they can run two programs close to one another so that parents can drop off their children and then quickly come to one of the Date Night activities.
The adult programs are designed so that friends, partners and individuals who are looking to get out of the house and experience something new can enjoy themselves with a night out.
Tickets are still available and sold separately; each attendee will leave with a swag bag valued at 15 dollars.
Baxter seems optimistic this event will work out as they announce they have ballroom dancing lined up for the fall in hopes that this event ends phenomenally.
Some other events Baxter is planning this summer are Belly Dancing with Art Esteem for kids on Friday, May 5, 12 and 26 at 5:30 pm and Vintage Swing with games on the Green for kids at Baxter’s Green on June 2, 9, 16 and 23.
Enjoy your Date Night Series, folks.
