BOUDREAU, Dorothy “Dot”
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dorothy (Dot) Boudreau on Thursday, April 6th, 2023. Loving wife of the late Stanislaus (Stan) Boudreau. Loving mother of Sandra Murphy (and her husband Dan), David Boudreau (and his wife Karen) and Greg Boudreau (and his wife Laurie). Loving grandmother of Amanda and Meghan Murphy, Sierra and Cameron Boudreau, Cassidy and Morgan Nice and Justin Boudreau. Loving great-grandmother to Declan Murphy. Loving sister to the late Burt Garretsee and the late Joseph (Joe) Garretsee. Dot was born to Donald (Don) and Eleanor Garretsee on January 29th, 1938 on the family farm in Partridge Hallow. The family soon moved to the village of Consecon where she was raised and spent her early years beating up her brothers and helping her dad on the farm. Some time in 1960 Dot was set up on a blind date with an Air Force man from Nova Scotia and on June 3 the next year she married, Stan, the love of her life. They were soon off to Germany where Stan had been posted and during their years there they made many friends and brought their first two children into the world; Sandra and David. When they returned to a posting in Trenton they built the family home in Consecon and finished up the family with the arrival of Greg. It was also during this time that Stan and Dot first became active in the Consecon Legion. There were two more postings, the first to Summerside PEI where the family spent serval years before finally moving back to Consecon for good in the mid 1980s. Dot loved to play cards and loved spending time with family and friends. She was a stay at home mom and raised her three kids. As the kids got older she took on many roles at the Consecon Legion and she has a huge Legion family as well. A Celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held on Sunday, April 23rd, 2023 at the Consecon Legion Br. 509, 184 Mill Street, Consecon beginning with a Legion Service at 1:00 p.m. Remembrances will be shared immediately after the Legion Tribute and friends are invited to stay and gather with the family for refreshments until 4:00 p.m.Online condolences may be shared at www.ainsworthfuneralhome.com Memorial Donations to the Consecon Legion Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family.Arrangements in the care of Ainsworth Funeral Home, 288 Noxon Avenue,Wellington.
