BUIKEMA, Geertruida Wubchiena “Teresa”  
January 8, 1931 – October 24, 2022
Peacefully entered into rest at Westlake Terrace Long Term Care Facility, on Monday, October 24, 2022, Teresa Buikema (nee Vegter) of Picton, formerly of Cherry Valley and Belleville died at the age of 91. She was the daughter of the late Hendrikus & Dena Vegter and wife of the late Wiebrandt “Peter”. Teresa was the loving mother of Jack (Debb) of Gananoque, Dena Kamink (Bill) of Consecon, Henry (Heather) of Trenton, Hilda Doornbos of Belleville, Otto (Sherry) of Picton and Betty Gardiner (Mark) of Milford. She was loved by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great granddaughter.  Teresa is predeceased by her brothers John Vegter, Pete Vegter (surviving Annie of Barrie), Harco Vegter (surviving Dianne Vegter of Barrie), Henk Vegter and by her sister Ina Vegter, survived by her sister-in-law Elly Bierling of Holland and will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Buikema rested at the Rushnell Funeral Home – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street (613-476-2450). A Memorial Service was held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 11 am at Bethany Christian Reformed Church, Bloomfield with visitation from 10 am until time of Service. Inurnment Cherry Valley Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Hastings-Prince Edward would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at: www.rushnellfamilyservices.com
